new: wallknobs

The time was right, especially for the holidays, to come with a new product. Something with a more attractive price. It had to fit in with the rest of my assortment, so it wasn't going to be keychains or something like that. I decided on knobs, crocheted, in 4 sizes, and 17 colours. Knobs for on the wall, as a coat rack.



The sizes are going to be 4 cm, 7 cm, 10 cm and 13 cm, of course in all my 17 colours. The prices will be between €10 for the smallest and €25 for the biggest one.
The yellow one here is an example, but as soon as I have some ready I'll put them in my shops. And pin, facebook and post lots of pictures.

knotted pendant lamps by Kwangho Lee

A while ago I came across this picture on, of course, Pinterest and I was in love. At the time I couldn't get to the source of the picture. In my research for another post recently I came across it again and this time I found the designer: Kwangho Lee. He is a designer from Seoul, Korea. His basic design principle is giving new meaning and function to everyday objects and materials. The inspiration came from his grandmother knitting when he was young and from his grandfather who recycled everything he found. The lamp that first caught my eye is entirely made from thick electrical wire. Masterclass basketry Dutch Design Week

During the Dutch Design Week I was able to take a masterclass on invitation by Etsy. This masterclass was an initiative from the Dutch Crafts Counsil in collaboration with the Cultural Participation Fund and Etsy and was one of a series of masterclasses. Every day of the Dutch Design Week there was a masterclass in traditional techniques, for example gold painting, felting, Delft Blue painting.             picture Dutch Crafts Counsil  The masterclass I got to take was basketry and was given by  Esmé Hofman . Esmé is one of the few left in the Netherlands who practices basketry on a high level. She collaborates with designers a lot to create new products with traditional techniques. crocheted lamps for the US

Last week, I finally got my 110 volts bulbs from the US. For a while I'm trying to make my crocheted lamps suitable for the US market. Since the voltage in the Netherlands is 220 volts and in the US 110, I can not use the same bulbs. After a lot of searching and mailing I have found almost the same globe light bulbs in 110 volts. The only difference is that the straight part is a bit shorter, it doesn't have the wider part. Etsy buyers can now choose with every lamp listing what voltage their lamp must have.
